Es cierto. Hace mucho tiempo que no hablamos de tebeos y para remediarlo, voy a contaros sobre los que más me han gustado últimamente, pues he estado leyendo mucho y muy variado.

Hoy empiezo con The death-ray de Daniel Clowes.

De Daniel Clowes me encanta cuando utiliza estilos diferentes dentro de un mismo cómic. Una especie de catálogo de técnicas. Lo de elegir un solo formato y manterlo, definitivamente no es su rollo. Vemos infinidad de tipos diferentes, casi una por cada título. Una paleta que va del full color a dos, tres tintas y de vuelta al full color. Y una distribución de las páginas que cambia a su antojo, modificando los tamaños y formas de las viñetas e introduciendo textos y dibujos fuera de ellas, como complemento a una historia contada entre grandes elipsis.

Una historia que habla de la vida cotidiana de un superhéroe que adquiere sus poderes de la nicotina y que tiene ese aire solitario y perdedor tan típico de los personajes de Clowes. La amistad, el amor, la condición humana, el paso del tiempo y las ironías de la vida, son algunos de los temas que trata, siempre con ese humor mordaz que tanto me gusta. 

Un tebeo muy bonito en todos los aspectos, una vuelta de tuerca al clásico cómic de superhéroes.
Os lo recomiendo mucho.

The comic room

Let's face it. Long time without talking about comics. I'll tell you about the ones I've liked most lately, as I have been reading a lot.

Today I begin with The death-ray by Daniel Clowes.

What I love of Daniel Clowes is he uses different styles within a single comic. A sort of catalog of techniques. Choosing and keeping just one format is definitely not his thing. We see plenty of different types, almost one for each title. A palette of full color, that goes to two, three inks and back to full color. And a layout of pages that is different everytime by changing the size and shape of the vignettes, or introducing texts and drawings out of them, in addition to the story.

A story about the daily life of a superhero who takes his powers from nicotine and has that lonely, loser mood, so typical of Clowes characters. Friendship, love, the human condition, the time and the ironies of life are some of the topics covered, always with that cold humor that I like so much.
 

A very nice comic in every aspect, a twist on the classic superheroes comic book. 
I highly recommend it.
